About

My name is Sarah Ann Woodbury. This blog is some of my thoughts, poetry, and observations. It is nothing grand. It is simply what it is.

The name of the blog, Unclipped, represents multiple things to me, all of them vital to my life right now.

First, I have always had a strange, faraway feeling that I am some kind of caged bird, but I have recently taken steps to unclip my wings. Unfiltered flight. Freedom. These are new feelings to me.

Second, with the attempt at an unclipping has come a sense of falling, as I would feel if I were unclipped from a harness while climbing. Freedom is not priceless. For me, it has been entangled with anxiety things and has been difficult. It does create a unique space for art to grow, however.

Third, this unclipping from a harness also allows me to forge my own route–assuming I’m not falling at the moment–rather than following the bolts up the “correct” route. Discoveries abound on the unmarked path, whether that is the painful finding of a wasp nest or the sacred curling into a little rock pocket (or nap pod, as my boyfriend calls them).

I hope you can enjoy my explorations. I’d love to have you unclip with me. Let’s take a look at freedoms, observations, and fears and observe them together, without judgement.
